| A long time ago I
searched the Internet and found the website of
the UK Wolf Conservation Trust, an organisation formed to
dispel the myths and misconceptions surrounding
wolves. The centre also raises funds to support
conservation projects across Europe, thus helping
wild wolves. I adopted one of the Trust's wolves,
Kenai, and a few years ago I
finally got around to seeing her and the others
at the wolf centre. I was immediately hooked and
put my name down as a volunteer. Since then I've been lucky
enough to spend countless hours in the company
of the wolves and their handlers, learning more
about wolves firsthand than I ever did from my
pile of textbooks! I've been keeping a record of
events at the Trust and every now and then I post a photo
diary on TheWeatherOutlook, combining my interest in
wolves and the weather. This site has copies of
all my "Wolves and Weather" articles,
so if you're curious as to what goes on behind
the scenes at the UKWCT or just want to see
pictures of wolves - read on!
August 2008
The latest update is a taste of life at the Trust in 2008.
The 2007 update brings news of floods, the latest on the youngsters and other goings on.
The spring update tells the story of spring at the wolf centre.
The winter update features a roundup of all that's happened during autumn and early winter.
The previous update features news of the pups and general goings on at the wolf centre.
Before that, there was a special feature about the wolves returning to Kent for the county show.
Three years worth of
Wolves and Weather articles can be found in the archive.
An index of the multimedia
files
available on this site is now available. There
are sound clips of all the wolves howling along
with video clips of the wolves at the UKWCT.
Catch up with the wolves!
